Abstract
We are reporting 2 cases of retina tear which occurred posterior to the old laser barrage scars. A 39 year old male patient presented with symptomatic flashes in his left eye. He had a history of laser barrage done in the left eye 17years back and scleral buckling done in the right eye for retina detachment. On fundus examination, Left eye had a large horse shoe tear posterior to the old laser barrage scars. Right was within normal limits with good buckle effect and well attached retina. Retinal tears are always seen in the periphery and caused by an adherent vitreous pulling the retina anteriorly towards vitreous base, during acute PVD. This patient's tear is unsual due to its posterior location to the old barrage scars.
