Abstract

We report a case of bilateral choroidal neovascularization secondary to angioid streaks. A 44 year old female presented with decreased vision in both eyes since 1month. BCVA was 6/36 in right eye and 6/12 in left eye. Her anterior segment was within normal limits. On fundus examination, narrow, irregular lines deep to the retina configured in a radiating fashion emanating from the optic disc suggestive of angioid streaks were seen in both the eyes. Right eye had subfoveal scarred choroidal neovascularization membrane. Left eye had gray green subretinal choroidal neovascularization membrane. On OCT, right eye showed type 2 MNV with some intraretinal cystic spaces. Left eye had type 2 MNV without any subretinal or intraretinal fluid. Our patient already had decreased vision in her right eye secondary to scarred CNV, we decided to treat the left eye even if there are no signs of subretinal or intraretinal fluid on OCT. Intravitreal injection of bevacizumab was given in both eyes.
