Abstract

The authors present a case of a metallic foreign body in a nine years old female child which entered her right eye when she fell on a pile of wires while playing.A wire segment 11cm long entered her orbit and was embedded in the superotemopal fornix. The eyeball had no injury. Since,the wire was dangling over her shoulder and causing difficulties in her head movements,it was cut with a K-wire cutter before sending her for CT scan. The scan revealed the F.B. in the anterior orbit, no damage to ocular structures and no bony injuries.
The F.B. was removed under general anaesthesia and the end was found to be curved.
