Abstract
In this surgical scenario, a 65-year-old female with severe kyphoscoliosis underwent a phacoemulsification procedure with posterior chamber intraocular lens (PCIOL) implantation. To address the unique challenges posed by the patient's spinal condition, the surgical team adopted a creative approach by adjusting the operating table height and the surgeon's position. The surgeon stood on a stool, optimizing the working height, while the patient was seated with meticulous support for her back curvature.
This unconventional technique not only prioritized patient comfort but also showcased the surgeon's skills in adapting to complex anatomical variations. By improvising the surgical setup, the team successfully navigated the challenges posed by the kyphoscoliosis, ensuring a safe and effective procedure. This case exemplifies the importance of surgical innovation in tailoring techniques to individual patient needs.
