Abstract
This study presents findings from a comprehensive assessment conducted at rural eye camps, focusing on the screening of posterior segment diseases using digital fundoscopy among 1000 patients. In addition to the clinical examination, participants were administered a questionnaire to gauge their knowledge levels concerning diabetes, glaucoma, and age-related macular degeneration (ARMD), as well as their attitudes towards teleophthalmology services. The results indicate a significant prevalence of posterior segment diseases among the screened population. Moreover, the questionnaire revealed varying degrees of awareness regarding diabetes, glaucoma, and ARMD, with implications for early detection and management strategies. Furthermore, the study highlights the potential for integrating teleophthalmology into rural healthcare settings, underscoring the importance of community acceptance, accessibility & aids better understanding of ocular health needs in rural areas.
