Abstract
We present a case of 45/M with double vision , foreign body sensation in left eye with mild deviation of left angle of mouth following surgery for left trigeminal schwannoma 1month back .
O/E -Vision normal BE , left esotropia with limitation of abduction .Corneal sensation diminished ,cornea lusterless , Mild orbicularis weakness but no lagophthalmos .Rest neuro-ophthalmic examination WNL .On schirmer's there was 22mm&9mm wetting Prior to surgery decreased sensation on left side of face was the sole presenting complaints .During surgical removal of tumor the proximity of 6 and7 nerve to 5 nerve explains the postoperative involvement of these nerves The dry eye in this patient is due to injury to nerves intermedius which contains parasympathetic fibers to salivary glands and lacrimal gland .This explains the dry eye in minimal seventh nerve palsy with no lagophthalmos
