Abstract
Study design : Case series
Purpose: To report 3 cases of CSVT.
Method: Case 1: A 7-year-old male child was bought to the emergency in an unconscious state with a history of high grade fever since 3 days.
Ophthalmological evaluation, showed bilateral Proptosis and mid-dilated pupil in right eye.CECT brain showed bilateral cavernous sinus thrombosis.
Case 2: A 20 year old came with sudden onset double vision since 1 day. HCRT showed LE 20 degrees esotropia. Abduction was limited on both sides. Fundoscopy showed papilledema. MRV showed bilateral transverse sinuous thrombosis.
Case 3: A 55 year old man came with severe headache since 10 days. He was a known case of acute pancreatitis. Fundoscopy showed papilledema . MRI showed left sigmoid sinus thrombosis.
Result: The above cases were diagnosed as CSVT and treated vigorously with anticoagulants.
Conclusion: The presented case reports highlights the importance of suspicion for ocular signs like Proptosis, and diplopia .
