Abstract
This is a case report of a 7-year-old female, resident of Bareilly, who presented with a progressively growing, painless mass on the lower lid of her left eye. A detailed clinical examination and imaging were conducted. The tumour's size escalated rapidly over two weeks, resulting in marked non-axial proptosis. Ocular examination revealed reduced visual acuity of 6/60 in her left eye and a diffuse mass with multiple nodular swellings in the left lower lid, severe conjunctival chemosis and a shallow anterior chamber.
An incisional biopsy was performed, and histopathological analysis confirmed the presence of embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma. Due to the tumour's location and potential to cause vision impairment, a combined treatment approach involving chemotherapy and radiotherapy was recommended to control the tumor's growth and prevent further dissemination.
