Abstract
studydesign:prospective analytical
purpose:To analyse epidemiology&genetics of congenital anomalies presented toOPD highlighting their clinical relevance&management
Methods:Prospective analytical study on congenital anomalies of orbit&adnexa attending occuloplastyOPD for3months duration.After selection,their demographic data&complete history are collected.Complete occular examination,systemic examination done.Karyotyping done when possible.Patients sent to paediatrician for systemic anomalies.Patients counselled& managed accordingly.Surgical management done for cosmetic purpose and to prevent amblyopia
Result:Out of44patients,25%6-10years&11-20years form27.27%.consanguinity-27.3%,positive family history-18.2%&9.1%are associated with systemic anomalies,congenital ptosis forms majority group43.18%
conclusion:Assessing spectrum&epidemology of congenital anomalies of orbit&adnexa is crucial for early diagnosis,appropriate intervention&to prevent complications especially amblyopia
