Abstract
A 12-year-old boy presented to the eye clinic with an open globe injury from being struck by a bed corner, causing watering and vision loss. Open globe injuries are challenging for ophthalmologists due to their complexity and potential complications. Immediate intervention involved wound closure and antibiotics to minimize risks. Visual rehabilitation, including secondary cataract surgery, ocular prosthetics, and vision therapy, is crucial for restoring functional vision and improving quality of life. In this case, secondary cataract surgery led to satisfactory visual outcomes. Tertiary care centers must be well-equipped to manage open globe injuries and associated visual impairment.
