Abstract
Retrospective study
To describe clinical profile of patients with uveitis developing peripapillary choroidal neovascular membrane (ppCNVM)
Chart review of uveitis patients with ppCNVM between January 2015 & December 2019. Comprehensive ophthalmic examination & serological investigation done to rule out systemic etiology. Follow up period was longer
29 eyes of 20 patients were included.The mean age of presentation was 35.4±15.6 years, sex distribution was equal & 45% cases were bilateral.The mean duration between onset of uveitis & diagnosis of ppCNVM was 51.5±81.2 days.Most common cause of uveitis was Multifocal Choroiditis (MFC) (8patients) followed by Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada syndrome (5patients).Most common complication was ocular hypertension (57.1%).Recurrences were not seen in 8 eyes & one recurrent episode occurred in 5 eyes
MFC was the most common cause of ppCNVM. Ocular Hypertension was the most common complication.Inflammation was well controlled with immunomodulator therapy
