Abstract

Objective : This abstract presents a rare case of orbital schwannoma, emphasizing the importance considering this DD for intraconal masses and highlighting the significance of appropriate imaging modalities.
A45 year old male patient presented with right-side facial weakness upon consultation with a physician, investigations included a CT brain scan was ordered. The imaging results revealed an unexpected intraconal mass close to the apex of the left orbit.Then he was referred to our hospital for further management.On examination right side showed minimal lagophthalmos suggestive of resolving bells palsy, left eye showed proptosis of 24mm on hertels, MRI orbits showed a well defined 20 x 19x 17 mm sized intraconal mass suggestive of cavernous hemangioma.Orbitotomy was done,and mass was removed by intoto,HPE report came as Schwannoma, to conclude Orbital Schwannoma through a rare tumor should be kept in mind as a DD for intra conal mass and correct mode of imaging is necessary.
