Abstract
Study design- Prospective, observational study done on patients undergoing trabeculectomy procedure.
Purpose-To image trabeculectomy blebs using anterior segment optical coherence tomography (AS‑OCT), and to correlate the bleb morphologic features at one month postoperatively with bleb function.
Methods- Study done on patients undergoing trabeculectomy procedure.
Inclusion criteria: primary glaucoma uncontrolled on maximum medical treatment
Exclusion criteria: prior ocular surgery, secondary glaucoma, abnormal scarred conjunctiva
Results-functioning filtering blebs at six months (P < 0.001).
• Bleb walls with the pattern of multiple internal layers and microcysts showed increased chances of success of functioning filtering bleb at six months (P < 0.001).
Conclusion- • Bleb walls with multiform wall reflectivity with the pattern of multiple internal layers with microcysts showed increased chances of success of functioning filtering bleb at six months.
