Abstract
A retrospective study at a tertiary eye care centre.
To Evaluate the outcomes of cataract surgery in and address the challenges faced pre-operatively, Intra-Operatively and in Post-operative care of patients undergone Simple Limbal Epithelial Transplantation (SLET).
Electronic medical records (EMR) were used to retrieve data of 224 patients with status post Allo-SLET/Auto-SLET, patient search was done and 9 patients were found to be operated for cataract extraction With IOL implantation from the period of April 2019 to Feb 2024. . Visual outcomes, corneal clarity and cataract morphology was considered to evaluate preoperative status.
A minimum of 2 lines of improvement on Snellen's chart, along with significant improvement in quality of vision was noted for all our cases, post cataract surgery
Though it is quite challenging to operate in eyes post SLET, salvaging the visual potential and providing these patients with the best possible visual rehabilitation is also important.
