Abstract

Keratoconus is a progressive corneal ectatic disorder, manifesting at puberty, late teens in males and early twenties in females. Aim-To see efficacy of intracameral injection of air and lamellar keratoplasty in two different eye presenting with acute hydrops. Methodology- A prospective study was carried out between september2023-april2024 in tertiary care centre of Jharkhand which includes 8 eyes of four patients. Intracameral injection of air was given and lamellar keratoplasty was done respectively.
Result- One eye was given intracameral injection of that showed an early resolution of corneal edema at 4 weeks and BCVA preoperatively was 6/60 which improve postoperatively to 6/18 while the other eye underwent keratoplasty BCVA preoperatively was FC-4m which improve to 6/24 after 4weeks.
Conclusion- Resolution of hydrops may improve the contact lens tolerance and visual acquity but most cases require keratoplasty for visual rehabilitation
