Abstract
To report a case of b/l retinal vasculitis due to CRAO in a patient of Takayasu Arteritis in a 32 yrs old female who developed rapid visual loss in one eye followed by the other within a week.
Methods: FFA,SD OCT, CT angio chest.
Results: The pt presented with DOV in BEs for 2 months.Funds showes sheathed ST & IT branch retinal artery in BEs with fibrovascular tissue in RE. FFA revealed initial dye transit of more than a minute& showed leakage around SN&ST region. Extensive retinal ischemia with widespread microaneurysms.CT angio chest showed b/l subclavian artery 90% occlusion,RCA almost complete occlusion,LCA-45%occlusion.She was further managed by cardiologist and underwent right subclavian & common carotid artery endovascular stenting.
Conclusion:
typical presentation of Takayasu arteritis should be borne in mind in cases with extensive b/l ocular ischaemia. Ocular involvement may be the first presenting feature of many systemic vasculitis disorders including Takayasu Arteritis.
