Abstract
We retrospectively review 3 cases of projectile injuries in eye.On presentation,BCVA was 20/20,20/60 and finger counting 3 meters in affected eye respectively.Intraocular pressure was 16mm,18mm and 22mm Hg.Anterior segment appeared normal.Fundoscopy showed areas of bare sclera,surrounding pigmentation, overlying resolving vitreous haemorrhage and radial retinal folds extending towards the posterior pole.Our 2nd case presented with dispersed preretinal hemorrhages in the lower vascular arch Peripheral contusive edema, preretinal and subretinal hemorrhages in the nasal and inferonasal regions, and vitreous hemorrhage were also observed.CT orbit revealed intraorbital foreign body (bullet)without macular distortion.Conservative management was done in 1 case with extraorbital foreign body with intact extraocular movements.Rest underwent removal of intraconal oreign body through lateral orbitotomy approach using modified Stallard-Wright incision with clinical improvement post-operatively.
