Abstract
STUDY DESIGN retrospective, single center study
AIM evaluate visual outcomes after bilateral implantation of EDOF IOL
METHODS 30 patients with bilateral implantation of Clareon Vivity Extended vision IOL were included. Uncorrected and corrected monocular far, intermediate and near vision were evaluated at 1 week, 1, 3 and 6 months post surgery. Binocular vision, contrast sensitivity and defocus curve were measured at final visit. Questionnaire was used to evaluate patient satisfaction and spectacle independence.
RESULTS Binocular uncorrected visual acuity at 6 months’ visit were 0.16±0.13, 0.08±0.06 and 0.17±0.08 logMAR for distance, 66 cm and 30 cm respectively. Defocus curve had a gentle shape without peaks. Bilateral contrast sensitivity was 1.80±0.15logMAR without correction and 1.14±0.10 logMAR with correction.
CONCLUSION Bilateral implantation of EDOF IOLs is a novel option for patients who focus on stationary activities.
