Abstract

Study design: Retrospective interventional case series. Purpose: To describe the clinical spectrum and management outcomes of dermolipoma. Methods: Clinical presentation, management and outcomes were reviewed in 80 cases of dermolipoma. Results: Median age of presentation was 14y, and 51(64%) were females. Most common location was supero-temporal in 49(61%) followed by temporal in 18(23%) and infero-temporal in 6(8%). Hair growth was seen in 27(34%). Ocular associations included limbal dermoid in 12(15%) and eyelid coloboma in 8(10%). Goldenhar syndrome was most common systemic association seen in 10(13%) cases. Surgical excision in the pre-tenon plane with glued-on amniotic membrane transplant was done in 54(68%) with no recurrence and good cosmetic outcome in all. Conclusion: Surgical excision followed by ocular surface reconstruction provides gratifying results.
