Abstract
Prospective observational study
To find out the visual outcome after clear lens extraction and PCIOL implantation.
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: Comparison of preoperative and postoperative visual acuity.
There were 32 Males, 18 Females.The commonest age group of patients presenting with high myopia was found to be 20 – 30 years (66%) with mean age of 27 ± 2 years and had good visual outcome.Majority of patients are having pre-operative Visual Acuity of 3/60 (20%), 2/60 (36%) and 1/60 (22%). Majority of patients have an Axial length of 25-30 mm (52%) whereas patients with axial length in the range of 30-35 mm had good visual outcome.
This study shows the increased incidence of high myopia with increased hours of near work.
Majority of the high myopia patients have IOL Power of 4-6 D (30%).
