Abstract
This case report documents the extraordinary journey of a 41 YO female patient presenting with an exceptionally rare diagnosis of a GHRH secreting lung carcinoid. The intricacy of this case is heightened by the manifestation of bilateral diminution of vision, diplopia, total ophthalmoplegia, proptosis, and moderate non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy (NPDR); all induced by secondary acromegaly, type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), and a concomitant pituitary macroadenoma provoked by the tumor.
The pre and post surgical analysis reveals the unique challenges posed by this rare case, addressing not only the after-effects of removing the carcinoid but also the interplay of associated endocrine and ophthalmic pathologies.
