Abstract
Study Design- Prospective Observational Study
Purpose- Study would be helpful to understand the spectrum of etio-pathology of Proptosis to take early measure to save vision.
Methods: Study was conducted at a tertiary health care centre in Central India based on clinical analysis of patients attending eye OPD the Department of Ophthalmology of the institution during a period of one years. Demographic details, clinical presentation, investigations details were obtained. A total of 31 patients were included in the study.
Results: 17 were male,M:F ratio 1.21:1 Most frequent group (30%) was >40 years of age. Unilateral proptosis (76%) and axial proptosis (53.3%] was more common. Thyroid ophthalmopathy was most common (29%) followed by Retinoblastoma (12.9%),Trauma 9.6% Cellulitis 9.6%, Metastasis 9.6% rest by other causes.
Conclusion:. The findings show diverse etiology of proptosis cases. Understanding these patterns is crucial for timely intervention to preserve vision
