Abstract
Study design-Cross-sectional study. Purpose- To study predisposing factors, clinical features, and effect of topical NSAIDs in CSCR in the female population. Method- A hospital-based cross-sectional study for 6 months was done in eye OPD, AMCH. Records of 26 female patients with CSCR were collected. Data collected include clinical features, predisposing factors, visual acuity, OCT features, and outcomes of patients treated with topical NSAIDs. Result- Mean age in females=44.5 which was significantly greater than that in males.12 cases kept under observation and 14 treated with topical NSAIDs and followed up at 1 month and 3 months. In the treatment group, the reduction of subretinal fluid as detected by OCT was upto 51- 60%, and in the observation group, upto 50% reduction. Conclusion- Patients treated with topical NSAIDs had faster resolution of subretinal fluid than those kept under observation. So early intervention leads to better visual recovery in females in our study.
