Abstract

The video demonstrates a challenging case of traumatic absorbed cataract with fused capsular bag. A capsular opening was created in the dense fibrosed capsule with Vanna scissors and enlarged using a vitreous cutter. Limited anterior vitrectomy was done . A 3 piece rigid IOL was implanted in the sulcus and captured in the capsular opening to acheive adequate centration of the IOL
Optic capture is a simple but effective technique to maintain long term stability of the IOL – capsular bag complex in cases of compromised capsular bags
