Abstract
29 year old gentleman presented with chief complaints of left eye diminution of vision since 2 months. His visual acuity was CFCF. He had total rhegmatogenous retinal detachment secondary to ARN. He was planned for belt buckle pars plana vitrectomy membrane peeling endolaser silicone oil injection 5000Cs under LA. Intra operative management of dense vitreous adhesions to retinitis lesions and removal of vitreous with cutter and forceps and identification of retinal breaks along with doing laser in a necrotic retina was a challenge in the case. Injection of 5000Cs silicone oil for long term tamponade was also considered. This case highlights the intra operative steps to keep in mind while managing a case of RD secondary to ARN. Patient had a well attached retina with BCVA 20/100p on 1 month follow up visit.
