Abstract
Phacoemulsification with anterior vitrectomy and three-piece IOL implantation is crucial for managing traumatic cataracts, involving lens emulsification, addressing complications, and ensuring stability. Patient selection is key, considering trauma severity and pre-existing conditions. Thorough assessment, intraoperative stability measures, readiness for complications, and postoperative monitoring are essential. Advanced imaging aids planning. Our surgical video case illustrates positive outcomes despite challenges like capsule rupture with vitreous loss. Postoperative glaucoma risk may require thorough management due to incomplete vitrectomy or optic capture. Overall, our approach is safe and effective, enhancing visual outcomes and quality of life. Ongoing research on advanced pars plana anterior vitrectomy techniques promises improved results and patient satisfaction.
