Abstract
Isolated posterior capsule rupture of the crystalline lens after blunt eye injury is a rare complication and demands a special surgical management strategy in order to achieve a good visual outcome. We present the video of the surgical management of such a challenging case. A 5 year old boy presented to the OPD with complaints of blunt trauma with a cricket ball 4 days ago. He had developed traumatic cataract and on slit lamp examination the posterior capsule tear was evident. USG B scan and anterior segment OCT also confirmed the post capsule dehiscence. Lens aspiration with anterior vitrectomy with a 3 piece foldable intra ocular lens was implanted with reverse optic capture. The child is doing well with a BCVA of 6/6 3 months post surgery.
