Abstract

Introduction: Headache is a common disability disrupting the education and social life of children. So, we aimed to describe the characteristics of headache in children presenting to the ophthalmology (OPD).

Methodology : Children aged 6-18 years, with C/O headache from Jan2023 to Jan2024 were included.We excluded nonverbal children, head trauma,psychiatric illnesses,epilepsy.Each child had headache questionnaire, following which they received a detailed ophthalmologic evaluation.
Results: We included 200 children mean age of 11.1 years. 60% male.50% with holocranial headache, and 29% with frontal headache. 70% with screen time of ≥2 hrs/day. Most common (RE) was myopia, seen in 46%. HARE seen in 65%, followed by migraine, in 20%. Children with HARE were mostly males, have daily screen time of >2 hrs/day, or have myopia. Their headache was more likely to be for >1 month with frontal localization. Children with headache due to other causes were mostly due to adolescent
