Abstract
Study design: Prospective analysis
Purpose: To determine associations of pachymetry, keratometry, and other factors with haze formation after collagen cross-linking (CXL), and to analyze its influence on visual outcome.
Methods: Prospective analysis was performed on 65 eyes with keratoconus using the Pentacam HR before, 1, and 3 months after cross-linking.
Results: Three months after treatment, there is significant flattening in Kmax( from 57.1 ±6.5D preop to 55.6 ± 6.1 D 3 months post-procedure) and Mean K( from 49.2 ± 3.1D to 48 ± 3.3D 3months Post procedure; P<0.001) was observed in all patients. Similarly, the thinnest corneal thickness decreased from 456.7 ± 34.6 μm to 404.1±61.4 μm 3 months post-procedure.
Conclusions: Three months after treatment, significantly increased densitometry values were observed in three central rings compared to baseline (post hoc p<0.0125).
