Abstract

Study Design: Prospective, Hospital based. Purpose: To study clinical profile in Port wine stain patients and correlation with glaucoma secondary to SWS in tertiary care centre, Jharkhand.Methods: 29 patients (16M,13F) with PWS and glaucoma secondary to SWS were included.Detailed ophthalmic examination like BCVA, anterior segment evaluation ,IOP and fundus examination was done.Result: Out of 29 patients,majority were ≤4 years of age. The majority of facial PWS were unilateral (Left>Right)in a trigeminal dermatomal distribution and 37.93 % cases had occurred glaucoma in same side. The affected eyes had higher IOP(19.3± 6.2 mmHg )larger axial length, and higher C/D ratio than the unaffected eyes. Conclusion: Glaucoma is a significant ocular hazard in children with facial port wine stain.Early diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma can help to improve visual outcomes.
