Abstract
The patients were divided in two groups Cases and Controls. Cases included patients with systolic BP over 140mm Hg or diastolic BP over 90 mm Hg and with no previous diagnosis of glaucoma, whereas controls were patients with SBP <140 mm Hg and DBP <90 mm Hg with no co-morbidities. All patients were recorded with Intraocular pressure measurement using Non-contact Tonometer and Blood pressure of the left arm in sitting position using digital machine. Kolmogorov–Smirnov test used to examine whether quantitative variables distributed normally and Chi-square test to compare the qualitative variables. Result :Elevated Systolic BP observed among cases compared with control (149.44 ±12.03 vs 121.52 ±11.93). Diastolic BP was elevated for cases as compared control (81.48 ± 11.58 vs 74.32 ± 8.45). Conclusion :Cases group showed a significantly higher IOP compared to control group.
