Abstract
A 72yr old female presented to safdarjung hospital OPD with complain of chronic headache, left eye pain and photopsia along with gradual diminution of vision in the right eye of three months duration. Ophthalmic examination was carried out PL+, PRinaccurate left eyes, 6/12 on snellen's chart in right eye. Slit lamp examination revealed scleral thinning, vascularization behind the lens in left eye. Binocular Indirect ophthalmoscopy of the left eye showed solid dark gray mass in the posterior segment, occupying posterior third of the vitreous chamber. ‘B scan’ ultrasound of left eye revealed a dome shaped nodular growth with low internal tumour reflectivity and significant change in angle kappa. CT PET scan revealed a large choroidal lesion in left eye. USG whole abdomen and PET CT did not reveal any signs of metastasis. On enucleation, malignant melanoma of choroid without scleral involvement was confirmed categorized as T3a stage IIB according to the American Joint committee on cancer.
