Abstract

STUDY DESIGN: Retrospective case series
PURPOSE: To report intraocular inflammation (IOI) following intravitreal (IVT) faricimab injection in 2 patients.
METHODS: 2 patients, a 73-year-old male & a 68-year-old female, both diagnosed with IPCV, had received multiple anti-VEGF injections for the same. They were both injected with IVT faricimab due to non-response to other agents.
RESULTS: Following IVT faricimab, both patients presented with mild vitritis (grade 2) within 3 days post-injection. No associated retinal vasculitis or occlusion was present. Both patients responded well to topical steroid therapy. Notably,the lady had a history of IOI (mild vitritis) following single IVT brolucizumab in the past. The male patient had not received IVT brolucizumab earlier.
CONCLUSION: IOI after intravitreal (IVT) faricimab is a possible complication that must not be overlooked. The role of previous IOI /previous brolucizumab injection needs further research.
