Abstract
PURPOSE: To report a case series on Central retinal artery occlusion and how proper management of acute retinal artery occlusion can save lives.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: CASE 1: Here we present 53 year old male presented with complaint of loss of vision in left eye for 5 days.Cherry red spot seen in left eye fundus examination and color doppler neck revealed left ICA thrombosed and stenosed.
CASE 2: A 19 year old male presented with complaint of loss of vision and proptosis in left eye for 7 days. He also had left side neck swelling.He was diagnosed with carcinoma maxillary sinus extending intracranially and surrounding sinuses.
CASE 3: A 43 year old male diagnosed with mucormycosis was referred for loss of vision in right eye with proptosis.
RESULTS & CONCLUSION: Acute re- tinal arterial occlusion constitutes a medical emergency, whose early management prevents potentially fatal complications.
