Abstract
STUDY DESIGN:PROSPECTIVE OBSERVATIONAL STUDY
Aim: To evaluate OCT parameters that are predictive of visual outcome after anti-VEGF therapy in Macular Edema(ME) due to Retinal vein occlusion(RVO)
Methods: 60eyes of 60patients with RVO having foveal involvement were included.Baseline VA,central macular thickness(CMT) & OCT parameters viz DRIL(disorganisation of retinal inner layers),ellipsoid zone, foveal bulge(FB),sub-retinal fluid(SRF),GCL cystic spaces,VR interface were documented.Patients given 3 loading doses of anti-VEGF.Pre and 1-month post 3rd dose of anti-VEGF,VA & CMT compared to analyse effect of these parameters on vision
Results:Presence of FB,SRF,CMT >600micron,GCL cystic spaces were predictive of significant VA&CMT improvement while ERM&DRIL independently as well as DRIL with EZ disruption did not show significant recovery
Conclusions: Patients of RVO treated with anti-VEGF are at increased risk of poor visual recovery if DRIL,ERM and EZ disruption is present at baseline
