Abstract
PURPOSE: To report a case series on foster kennedy syndrome vs pseudo foster kennedy syndrome
INTRODUCTION: Foster Kennedy syndrome represents the presence of a unilateral optic disc swelling with contralateral optic nerve atrophy, due to an intracranial mass.The presence of these findings in absence of intracranial mass is referred to as pseudo foster kennedy syndrome.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: CASE 1: A 51 year old male presented with complaint of diminution of vision in both eyes since 1 year.He had meningioma of lesser wing of sphenoid.
CASE 2: A 48 year old female presented with complaint of diminution of vision in right eye. She was also diagnosed with diabetic retinopathy and had similar episode in other eye 2 yrs back.
CASE 3: A 52 year old male presented with complaint of floaters in left eye. He was pseudophakic and had papilloedema in right eye and optic atrophy in other eye.
RESULTS&CONCLUSION:Neuroimaging plays an important role in distinguishing the se two similar entity.
