Abstract
A 6-months-old infant was brought by her parent with complaint of inability to open the right eye since birth. Initial examination revealed normal eyelids and adnexa, but a large iris cyst, occupying two-thirds of the anterior chamber and obscuring the visual axis. To rule out any mass lesion, ultrasonography biomicroscopy (UBM) was performed. Intraoperatively, mi-OCT was utilized for meticulous aspiration with a 31-gauge needle and submitted for cytological evaluation. Fibrin glue, consisting of thrombin and fibrinogen, was then injected into the emptied cystic cavity and left in place. At the final follow-up, the visual axis had cleared, and the cyst had resolved, leaving behind only residual pigmentation on the endothelium.
This video illustrates the successful management of a substantial congenital iris cyst in an infant using non-toxic fibrin glue, this assisted in complete excision of cyst and patient remains free of recurrence at 1 year follow-up.
