Abstract
Aim: Asian blepharoplasty is a commonly performed procedure where the goal is to create a prominent upper lid crease. Here a retrospective self-analysis of 22 cases was performed over the past 3 years.
Method: Age, gender, date, recovery period post surgery and follow-ups, the goal of Asian blepharoplasty surgery; the preoperative lid crease visibility and status, the height and shape chosen by the patient. Intraoperative analysis included presence or absence of preaponeurotic fat, the extent of fat, whether partially resected, or reposited were noted, the thickness of orbicularis was noted.
Results:Of 22 patients 19 constituted primary AB; revisional AB contributed 3. Age distribution ranged from 27 to 75 years. Crease height selected ranged from 6.5 to 8.5 mm. Parallel shape crease was 65%,nasally-joining crease shape was 35%.
Conclusions:Asian blepharoplasty performed by debulking of preaponeurotic platform is a safe, effective that can provide beautiful enhancement of patients.
