Abstract
This study aims to conduct a comparative assessment of accommodation and vergence parameters in adolescents diagnosed with myopia(≤-0.50 D) & emmetropic controls(±0.50 D) in the NE Indian population. Accommodation & vergence functions were evaluated using near point of convergence, positive and negative fusional vergence, accommodative amplitude,& retinoscopy. The most common dysfunction found in myopia was convergence insufficiency. The experimental group showed statistically significant improvement after vision therapy(p<0.001), compared to the control group. These findings suggest a potential association between RE & alterations in accommodation & vergence functions, emphasizing the importance of comprehensive visual assessment, vision therapy & spectacle prescriptions in managing myopia in adolescents.
