Abstract
STUDY DESIGN : Cross-sectional observational ; PURPOSE : Profiling nature & severity of ocular trauma ; METHODS: 260pts over 9 months(july,23-march,24)evaluated by Snellen's &Ishihara chart, S/L,DO,IO,OCT,Xrays,CTscan,USG B scan. RESULT: 76%males,28%females. Max. 21-30yrs(42.7%)>31-40yrs(26%).Orbital injuries involved EYELID[abrasion 40%>periocular hematoma37.7%>laceration35%(22.82%involving lid margin,10.86%canalicular lacerations)>FB in tarsal conj. 8.8%&inside fornices4.6%];ORBITAL FLOOR FRACTURES(floor0.8%,medial wall0.4%);GLOBE RUPTURE3%.Anterior segment involved CONJUNCTIVA(congestion80%>subconj.hemorrhage66.5%>chemosis30.70%>tears10.4%);CORNEA(FB21.9%>abrasion20.8%>DM folds&edema10.4%>Rupture6.5%);ANTERIOR UVEA(traumatic mydriasis8%,iridodialysis8.4%);AC(hyphema);LENS(subluxation1.9%>Vossius ring1.1%>dislocation0.8%).Posterior segment 20.4%[Vitreous hemorrhage62.3%>RD39.6%>FB1.8%].CONCLUSION: Max. V/A:<6/60-PL+(35.4%)&6/12-6/6(34.6%);PL denied(14.2%).53% RTA,38.25% occupational.
