Abstract
This is a prospective observational case series done over a period of 2 months.
The purpose of this study is to describe the various ocular and systemic associations of limbal dermoid.
Methods : 10 patients were examined and followed up in this study. All of them presented with fleshy raised mass in the inferotemporal limbal region. The patients underwent a thorough systemic and ocular examination. A multidisciplinary approach was taken involving musculoskeletal, neurological and ENT departments.
Results : 3 main systemic associations were found : Goldenhar syndrome ,Treacher Collins syndrome ,Duane’s retraction syndrome along with lid colobomas, epibulbar dermoid and a few bony deformities not fitting into any syndrome were seen.
Conclusion : Isolated limbal dermoids were seen only in 2 out of 10 patients.
