Abstract
A 31 year old female presented to us with painless swelling over the inner aspect of the right eyebrow since 2 years. It was gradually increasing in size ,currently 3cmX 2cm in size. There was no history of trauma or discharge from swelling. On examination ,a non tender 3cmX2cm mobile lump with well defined inferior border reaching upto upper eyelid. There was
no signs of inflammation or discolouration and no signs of superficial or deep fixity. vision was 6/6,N6 unaided in both eyes and fundus examination was normal. A clinical diagnosis of dermoid was done. The CT scan reported a well defined extracranial soft tissue density leison measuring 1.6 by 0.6 mm in preorbital region with underlying bone normal. Excision biopsy was planned. Intraoperative the leison was not a dermoid. Excision biopsy was done and tissue sent for histopathology which revealed Angiolipomatous hamartoma.Hamartoma is defined as disorganized arrangement of tissue indigenous to an organ.
