Abstract
PURPOSE: To compare the effects of eye drop Nepafenac (0.1%) only-group A vs eye drop Nepafenac (0.1%) and stress reduction -GROUP B on the structural and functional outcomes of patients with acute CSCR.
METHODS: This prospective case control study of 1yr includes 104 patients with acute CSCR who randomly allotted to one of the two groups. Both evaluated in terms of BCVA and CMT at months 1, 3, 6.Inclusion criteria for CSCR- acute unilateral onset of visual disturbances with in 2 wks until the first visit to department and ophthalmoscopic finding of a round/ oval macular detachment confirmed by OCT. The stress reduction is assessed by PSS10 with active counselling sessions in regular intervals for the same. RESULTS: The group B showed statistically significant better results in terms of BCVA and CMT at 1, 3, 6 months (p<0.05).CONCLUSION: CSCR can be better treated by a wholesome approach by eliminating the stress factor which in majority of cases is the root cause of the ailment.
