Abstract
PURPOSE
Correlate Visual Acuity (VA) > 6/12 with Contrast sensitivity (CS) and Stereopsis in patients with Primary Open Angle Glaucoma (POAG) and Ocular Hypertension (OHTN).
STUDY METHODOLOGY
Hospital based Cross sectional study was done at Glaucoma clinic of a Tertiary care eye hospital in Kerala for a period of 1 year. Participants fulfilling eligibility criteria were included.
RESULTS
Among 109 participants, 64.2 % had POAG and 35.8 % had OHTN. 40% of POAG and 38.5% OHTN were between 51 to 60 years. 47.1 % of POAG and 53.8% of OHTN were males. Correlation of visual acuity with CS in POAG and OHTN had Pearson correlation coefficient of -0.5538 (P value 0.4462) and with stereopsis was -0.5505 ( P value 0.4495) showing a non significant relationship.
CONCLUSION
Correlation of visual acuity > 6/12 with CS and stereopsis in POAG and OHTN was found to be non significant in my study.
