Abstract

Study design: prospective
Purpose: Aim is to investigate on cataract patients and to validate with SIA calculator version 2.1.
Methods: Pre and post-op keratometry values of 107 patients extracted. Coding for calculator body and formulae was done using android studio. Magnitude calculated by square root of sum of Kh2 and Kv2, and axis by tan-1(Kv/Kh). The resultant vector calculated on subtracting pre and post-op magnitude and axis.
Results: This study found a mean age of 62.78 (±4.79) years with 56 (52.34) females. Resultant vector of 1.31 (±1.64) D @ 1.52 (±1.85) degree differences and 1.49 (±1.10) D @ 91.73 (±37.27) degrees found with app and calculator. A positive correlation (r=0.38) observed for magnitudes. More than 95% data distributed within ±1.96 times SD with good limits of agreement for magnitudes. An area under curve of 1.00 and 0.99 for app and SIA calculator determined respectively.
Conclusion: SIA android app and SIA calculator 2.1 were comparable with high accuracy
