Abstract

Purpose:
To make cortical aspiration all 360 degrees around atraumatic in cases of FLACS with miosis.
Methods:
In FLACS the cortex is cut 200microns below the CCC. In FLACS, with miosis beyond the CCC, cortical aspiration becomes difficult with bimanual I/A as there is nothing to hold on to the iris. This modified tip of the irrigating handle with the Y attachment, makes cortical aspiration atraumatic.Results:It is observed that this is a very atraumatic method of cortical aspiration in intraoperative miosis in FLACS cases. .Conclusion:In conclusion, this modified tip of the irrigating handle with the Y attachment, makes cortical aspiration all 360 degrees around atraumatic.
