Abstract
Purpose:To find out the Incidence of Aggressive retinopathy of prematurity (AROP) among all screened babies,
Efficacy of intravitreal Razumab injection followed by Panretinal-photocoagulation to avascular retina
Study Design:This was a retrospective study carried out at the Vitreo-retinal Services department of a Tertiary Eye Care centre in Eastern India.
Methods: Study calculated AROP (aggressive disease in zone 1 and posterior zone 2) among all screened babies.
AROP infants received intravitreal biosimilar Ranibizumab (0.25 mg/0.025 ml) in both eyes.
Weekly follow up was done till maximum retinal vascularisation was achieved.
Result: Type 1 disease was seen in 50 babies ( 9.5%), which required only laser photocoagulation.
Complete resolution of ROP was seen in all 48 eyes (100%) at a median of 5 weeks( 4–6 weeks). 4 eyes (8.3%) had flat fibrous ridge at the posterior laser margin at 6 months follow up after laser.
No eye with tractional retinal detachment requiring surgery.
