Abstract
Retrospective case control study
To evaluate efficacy of corneal relaxing incisions for correction of corneal astigmatism
355 patients who underwent phacoemulsification between Jan 2024 to April with expected postop astigmatism between 0.5 to 1.5D by using Barrett Universal II formulae were divided into two groups. Group I(CRI) of 187 eyes and Group II(control) 176 eyes. Argos Optical biometer and Verion Digital image guided system was used to plan the arc length for paired arcuate corneal incision placed at 8 mm circumference using 600 micron guarded keratome. Best corrected visual acuity, uncorrected visual acuity and keratometry were recorded preoperative and 6 weeks postoperative
Statistical analysis using sample t test with IBM-SPSS 24.0 version. Change in astigmatism was not statistically significant but the CRI group showed a significant UCVA and less need for spectacle
Verion Nomogram can be used effectively to achieve predictable refractive outcome and spectacle independence.
