Abstract
Study design- A case report of subcutaneous mycosis presenting as mass on the right upper eyelid.
Purpose- To provide valuable insights into the presentation, progression, and management of the subcutaneous mycosis.
Methods- A case of 20-year-old male presented with history of painless, progressively enlarging mass on the right upper eyelid. he denied any history of trauma to that area or prior surgery.
Results- visual acuity, slit-lamp examination, HPE, microscopic examination, and culture were done. visual acuity was 6/9 in right eye and 6/6 in left eye. slit-lamp examination shows granulomatous mass of 4cm in size and pinkish in color over right upper eyelid. culture report confirms it was subcutaneous mycosis. Treatment- tab. itraconazole 200mg BD was given and follow-up was recommended.
conclusion- Subcutaneous mycosis involving the eyelid poses diagnostic challenges due to its rarity. prompt diagnosis and appropriate antifungal therapy are essential for favorable outcomes.
