Abstract

Record based retrospective study was done to see effect of interferon alfa 2b (INF α 2b) in patients of OSSN. A study was conducted where records of patient diagnosed with OSSN were included from 2019-2022. The demographic data, visual acuity, clinical features, viral serology and anterior segment Ocular coherence tomography (AS-OCT) were recorded. All cases were managed by subconjunctival injection (0.5ml of 3MIU/ML) away from the lesion and topical INF α 2b(1MIU/ML) for 6 months.15 patients with male: female ratio of 3:1 with mean age of 60.06 years were included in the study that showed the most common site was temporal limbus(66.67%) with most frequent morphology of gelatinous type(53%). All cases on follow up showed marked regression and resolution except one that was lost to follow-up. We concluded that IFN α 2b is an excellent non-invasive treatment modality for OSSN.
